Leitrim Association of People with Disabilities (LAPWD) is the County Leitrim Centre for Independent Living, dedicated to empowering people with disabilities and older adults to live independently and participate fully in society. For more than two decades the charity has built a reputation for personalised support, working closely with service users, families and local partners to remove barriers and promote inclusion.

LAPWD offers a comprehensive suite of services, including Home Care, Respite, Personal Assistant support and Accessible Transport, all designed to enhance daily living and community access. The Action Ability Centre provides a welcoming space for training, meetings and skill-building activities, while specialist programmes such as the Personal Assistant service and tailored transport solutions help individuals maintain autonomy and confidence.

Based in Mohill, County Leitrim, LAPWD forms part of the national network of Centres for Independent Living, ensuring that local residents benefit from best-practice approaches and a strong advocacy voice across Ireland.
