Company Description
Connemara Marble Visitor Centre Limited is a family‑run heritage attraction that celebrates one of Ireland’s oldest indigenous industries – the extraction and craftsmanship of Connemara marble. Based in Moycullen, Co. Galway, the centre has been welcoming visitors since 1965, when Ambrose Joyce opened the doors to what is now a thriving hub of geology, art and local tradition.
The centre offers guided summer tours of its marble jewellery factory, where guests can explore the geological origins of the stone, learn about the forty distinct shades of green that give Connemara marble its unique character, and watch skilled silversmiths and craftsmen cut, polish and set the marble into jewellery and decorative pieces. A museum showcases the industry’s history, while an on‑site shop provides a curated range of marble products, from jewellery to architectural slabs, all quarried
