Health Ireland User Group Company Limited By Guarantee (HIUG) is a cooperative of general practitioners who use the HealthOne electronic patient record and practice-management system. Established when HealthOne was first introduced to Ireland in the late 1980s, the group has been instrumental in shaping the software's evolution and continues to champion its development, training and user support across the country.

HIUG's core activity is to act as a proactive voice for HealthOne users, providing training, sharing best-practice guides and influencing future enhancements. The committee is currently steering the creation of a next-generation, cloud-based solution - the CompleteGP "HealthTwo" platform - which will retain HealthOne's customisability, structured records and robust audit capabilities while adding modern features such as optional scribing, GDPR-compliant AI-assisted note-taking and automated coding. Testing is underway, with a planned release in early 2026.

Through regular updates, live demonstrations and an active community, HIUG helps Irish GPs maximise the efficiency and clinical value of their digital records, ensuring the software remains fit for purpose in a rapidly changing healthcare landscape.
