Kerry Travellers Health & Community Development Project is a community-led organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life for the Traveller community in County Kerry. Working from the belief that Travellers are an ethnic minority with a distinct culture, the project adopts a holistic view of health - encompassing physical, mental and social well-being - and places community development principles at the heart of its practice.

The project's core activities include facilitating needs-based, life-cycle-appropriate programmes, building capacity within Traveller groups, and supporting collective action to address identified challenges. By ensuring that over half of its Management Committee is Traveller-led, the organisation promotes genuine participation and ownership of solutions. It also collaborates closely with Traveller organisations, service providers and other stakeholders, fostering partnership models that respect both Traveller and settled cultures.

Through empowerment, advocacy and partnership, Kerry Travellers Health & Community Development Project strives to create a more just, equal society where Traveller rights are upheld and discrimination is actively challenged.
