ST. ITA'S VOLUNTARY HOUSING ASSOCIATION AND DAY-CARE CENTRE COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

St Ita’s Voluntary Housing Association and Day‑Care Centre CLG is a charitable voluntary company dedicated to supporting elderly and vulnerable adults in the Abbeyfeale community, Co. Limerick. Established from the vision of the late Canon James Neville, the organisation receives backing from the Department of Rural and Community Development, Pobal and the HSE’s Section 39 funding, enabling it to deliver a range of social‑care services.

The day‑care centre operates each Tuesday and Wednesday, offering a welcoming space where participants enjoy a three‑course lunch, morning tea with freshly baked scones and a programme of bingo, card games, music, dancing and storytelling. Transport is provided where possible via a minibus, and the cost is €15 per person with no referral required. In addition, St Ita’s manages 23 single‑storey houses that allow residents to live independently while receiving daily meals, and it runs a Meals on Wheels service delivering freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced meals to Abbeyfeale and surrounding areas from Monday to Friday.
