Company Description
Port of Cork Company is the premier maritime gateway for the south of Ireland, operating from the world's second-largest natural harbour at Cork. As a key international seaport, it provides seamless connectivity for trade, cruise tourism and offshore renewable-energy projects, linking Irish businesses and communities to a global supply chain.
The port uniquely services all six shipping modes - lift-on/lift-off, roll-on/roll-off, liquid bulk, dry bulk, break-bulk and cruise - through four distinct locations, including the newly-invested €89 million deep-water Cork Container Terminal at Ringaskiddy. Its extensive schedule connects to major European hubs such as Rotterdam, Bremerhaven and Antwerp, as well as routes to the United States, Central America, Africa and the Mediterranean. In 2020 the port handled 10.5 million tonnes of traffic and processes around 300 000 containers each year, supporting roughly 45 000 local jobs and €145 billion of manufacturing output from its top customers.
Beyond cargo, Port of Cork champions sustainability and community engagement, hosting the annual cruise season, partnering on offshore renewable-energy initiatives and supporting youth programmes at sea. Its forward-looking Masterplan 2050 ensures the port remains a world-class, future-proof hub for Ireland's trade and tourism.
