Galway Harbour Company (GHC) is the driving force behind the regeneration of Galway’s historic inner harbour. By commissioning and delivering the final Galway Inner Harbour Masterplan, GHC is guiding the transformation of the former docklands into a sustainable, mixed‑use urban quarter that will serve as a vibrant city‑centre hub. The company’s current focus is the Phase 1 development – Amharc Atalia – which will provide 356 new cost‑rental and social homes, helping to meet the city’s housing needs while revitalising a key brownfield site at Galway Port.

Specialising in large‑scale urban planning and harbour‑side development, GHC works closely with the Land Development Agency, local stakeholders and the wider community to ensure that public‑realm quality, safety, heritage character and biodiversity are woven into every aspect of the scheme. Their broader strategy also includes the relocation and expansion of port facilities, positioning the harbour as a catalyst for economic growth and improved quality of life for residents and businesses alike.
