Company Description
Community of Lough Arrow Social Project (CLASP) is a charitable organisation serving the east Sligo area, including the villages of Ballintogher, Riverstown, Geevagh, Ballinafad, Keash and Castlebalwin. Founded in 1997 with funding from the Community Development Programme, CLASP provides a range of essential services designed to support older residents and promote social inclusion.
Key services include a rural transport scheme that offers lifts to medical appointments, a weekly shopping and pension run, and a partnership-run bus service to St Luke's in Dublin via the Sligo Cancer Care Centre. The Meals on Wheels programme prepares and delivers nutritious meals throughout the catchment area, while the Active Age Clubs host weekly gatherings with hot meals, friendly conversation and organised activities. In Geevagh, the Men's Shed provides a welcoming space for men of all ages to meet, chat and create.
Membership is voluntary, with contributions helping to sustain these vital services. CLASP's focus on practical support and community connection makes it a cornerstone of wellbeing for the older population across east Sligo.
