Company Description
The Irish Forum for Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (IFCAPP) is the recognised accrediting and representative body for child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapists across Ireland. Established in 1986, the forum champions the development of psychoanalytic psychotherapy for young people, upholding rigorous standards of training, practice and continuous professional development for its members.
IFCAPP’s core service is the accreditation of therapists who have completed a four‑year, continuous training pathway – a two‑year MSc in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at Trinity College Dublin followed by two years of clinical training with the Irish Institute of Child & Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. All members adhere to the Code of Ethics and meet the training standards set by IFCAPP, the Irish Council for Psychotherapy and the European Certificate of Psychotherapy. The organisation also provides a searchable “Find a Therapist” resource, helping families and young people connect with qualified professionals.
By fostering excellence in child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapy, IFCAPP ensures that Ireland’s youngest patients receive compassionate, evidence‑based care from highly trained specialists.
