Douglas Community Association (D.C.A.) is a volunteer‑run, non‑profit organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of residents in Douglas and the surrounding villages of Cork. Operating from the Douglas Community Centre, the association offers a diverse programme of activities for all ages, from Pilates, fitness and meditation classes to art, drama, Irish dancing and Spanish language lessons. A cornerstone of its work is the Douglas pre‑school, which provides a nurturing early‑years setting for up to 30 children and receives partial funding from the HSE/Túsla Child and Family Agency.

The centre’s facilities are also available for hire, with a spacious hall equipped with seating, a kitchenette and a welcoming ambience for community events, meetings and private functions. Beyond indoor programmes, D.C.A. manages the five‑acre Douglas Community Park, which features an outdoor gym, a well‑maintained playground for children up to thirteen, and a variety of mature trees. Partnerships with local groups such as Meals on Wheels, Douglas Tidy Towns and the seasonal Dough Hut further extend the association’s reach, fostering a vibrant, inclusive community hub.
