KILDORRERY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Kildorrery Community Development Company Limited by Guarantee is a volunteer-run organisation that has been enriching the village of Kildorrery, North Cork, since 1993. Its core mission is to create a welcoming, active community for residents and visitors by delivering a wide range of social, cultural and environmental projects.

The company organises popular fund-raising events such as the weekly Community Bingo, the Community Lotto and the GAA Lotto, with all proceeds reinvested into local initiatives. It also manages the Kildorrery Community Garden - a member of the Irish Seed Savers Association - and supports the Historical Society, Craft & Chat Group, and a host of sports and hobby clubs. In partnership with the local GAA, it runs a thriving preschool and after-school programme, offering supervised homework, snacks and specialised clubs including LEGO, Zumba Kids and dance.

Through projects like the Village Park, a community car park, the restoration of the Thatch & Thyme hub and the Oaklawn social housing development, Kildorrery Community Development demonstrates how grassroots collaboration can preserve heritage while fostering modern, vibrant village life.
