YOUNG IRISH FILM MAKERS COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Young Irish Film Makers (YIFM) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to nurturing the next generation of Irish storytellers. Operating a National Youth Film & Animation School, a vibrant Youth Film & Animation Network and a Creative Media Production hub, YIFM provides hands-on training, mentorship and collaborative opportunities for young people across the island.

Key programmes include outreach workshops, a Young Critics initiative and a summer-long animation school that is open to all. In 2024, under the Per Cent for Arts Scheme, YIFM commissioned artist-animator Padraig Fagan to lead a ten-day residential animation workshop for 14 emerging creatives. Participants produced individual portfolio pieces and four group projects, which were showcased to a packed audience at the Kilkenny IMC.

Based in Kilkenny, YIFM's work is funded by a range of public and private partners, ensuring that high-quality film and animation education remains accessible to young talent throughout Ireland. The organisation's vibrant online presence on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and YouTube reflects its commitment to engaging and inspiring the next wave of Irish filmmakers.
