AFRI

Afri is an Irish-based advocacy organisation dedicated to promoting global justice, peace and sustainable development. Drawing inspiration from the UN Charter's call to "save succeeding generations from the scourge of war", Afri works to inform public debate, influence policy and drive practical change on human-rights, climate-crisis and resource-justice issues. Through rigorous analysis, education programmes and direct action, the group stands in solidarity with marginalised communities in the Global South as well as with disadvantaged groups across Ireland.

The organisation's flagship activities include the annual Doolough Famine Walk - a three-decade-long tradition that combines remembrance, music and community solidarity - and the Afri Hedge School, a creative learning event modelled on historic Irish hedge schools. Afri also produces educational media, such as documentaries and a 30-track CD featuring leading Irish artists, and runs campaigns on nuclear disarmament, children's rights and environmental protection. By offering one-off and recurring donation options, Afri enables supporters to sustain its research, advocacy and grassroots initiatives.
