SHABRA RECYCLING LIMITED

Shabra Recycling Limited is one of Ireland's leading waste-plastic recyclers, operating a closed-loop system that turns discarded PET, HDPE and LDPE into high-quality recyclate and new polymer products. Based in Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, the company collects plastic packaging from back-door drop-offs, waste-collector networks and industrial sources, then uses automated sorting equipment to segregate, wash and dry the material before re-extruding it into raw recyclate.

From this in-house feedstock Shabra manufactures a full range of polythene bags, sacks, tubing and other disposable items to customer specifications, supplying the finished products directly to clients across the island. In addition to its manufacturing arm, Shabra provides janitorial supplies and catering chemicals, all sourced from its own recycled material.

Beyond its commercial activities, Shabra is committed to the circular economy and environmental education, running school tours and supporting local recycling competitions. Founded by Rita Shah and the late Oliver Brady, the firm recycles more than 10,000 tonnes of plastic each year and has earned multiple national awards for its innovative, sustainable approach.
