Repak Limited is Ireland's leading packaging-recycling organisation, acting as a one-stop shop that advises households and businesses on what packaging can be placed in the recycling bin - clean, dry and loose. By coordinating the efforts of more than 3,500 members, Repak funds a nationwide network of recycling centres, bottle banks and back-door waste solutions, helping to turn everyday waste into valuable resources.

The charity-like body offers practical tools such as detailed recycling lists for paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, tins and foil, and runs the Prevent & Save Programme to help members optimise packaging design, reduce waste and meet sustainability targets. Its impact is measurable: in 2023 an estimated 55 % of all Irish packaging - 16.9 million tonnes - was recycled, with members contributing €632 million to the system and achieving a 26.4 % recycling rate for plastics.

Through high-profile initiatives like the Repak Resource Awards and the Plastic Pledge, Repak recognises and encourages industry leaders such as Lidl, Aldi, Nestlé and the Culinary Food Group to innovate and reduce packaging complexity, driving a greener, more circular Irish economy.
