NATIONAL WOMEN'S COUNCIL OF IRELAND

The National Women's Council of Ireland (NWC) is the country's leading independent voice championing gender equality for women and girls. Through research, advocacy and strategic partnerships, the Council works to ensure that every woman enjoys true equality and that no one is left behind.

NWC's activities span a wide range of policy areas - from childcare and early-years education, to housing solutions that prevent violence against women, to feminist climate-justice initiatives. It commissions and publishes evidence-based reports, contributes to national strategies such as the newly released National Strategy for Women and Girls, and collaborates with bodies like the HSE Mental Health Service, the Department of Health, Trinity College Dublin and community-led climate projects. The Council also runs focused research programmes, including studies on contraception access and survivor-centred reforms in sexual offence trials.
