Carrigaholt Development Association (CDA) is a community‑driven, not‑for‑profit company limited by guarantee that exists to champion the social, cultural and economic wellbeing of Carrigaholt, a cosy fishing village on the Shannon Estuary along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Through its website the association promotes local assets – from award‑winning restaurants and lively pubs to historic sites such as a 15th‑century tower house and the resident bottlenose dolphins – and provides a hub for residents and visitors alike.

The CDA’s core activity is the development and support of community projects, exemplified by the Carrigaholt CDA Project and its partnership with the Loop Head Rowing Club. By coordinating proposals, securing resources and fostering collaboration, the association helps sustain essential services such as the post office, the combined pre‑ and national school, and initiatives that celebrate the village’s maritime heritage and natural beauty.
