OFFALY TRAVELLER MOVEMENT COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Offaly Traveller Movement (OTM) is a Traveller‑led community development organisation dedicated to achieving full equality for the Traveller community in County Offaly. Registered as a company limited by guarantee and recognised as a charity, OTM works directly with Travellers to help them reach their full potential and to challenge poverty, social exclusion, disadvantage and discrimination.

The movement delivers a wide range of programmes and services, including health promotion, mental‑health support, accommodation assistance, youth development and education initiatives. Recent milestones showcase its impact: a historic partnership with the Laois & Offaly Education and Training Board, the St Michael’s Athletic Soccer team’s triumph in the Combined Counties Football League Division 3 Plate, and a well‑attended Traveller Ethnicity Day celebration at the Esker Arts Centre. OTM also leads collaborative projects with Tusla and other Traveller groups to strengthen community ties and improve outcomes for children and families.

Rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Irish Travellers—an indigenous minority ethnic group formally recognised in 2017—OTM combines advocacy with practical support, offering a welcoming, inclusive platform for Travellers across Offaly to thrive.
