The Music Instrument Fund of Ireland (MIFI) is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting emerging young musicians by providing access to high-quality string instruments. Recognising that the acquisition of a fine violin, viola or cello can be a pivotal moment in a student's artistic development, MIFI works closely with patrons of classical music to build and maintain a collection of instruments distinguished by their sound, origin, condition and provenance.

Through its audition programme, MIFI invites talented violin, viola and cello students to apply for the chance to play on these instruments, enabling them to progress, compete internationally and showcase Irish talent on the world stage. By linking supporters directly with the next generation of artists, the Fund ensures that financial barriers do not stand in the way of musical excellence, fostering a vibrant future for classical music across Ireland.
