AN BREACADH NUA

An Breacadh Nua is a Gaeltacht‑based educational hub that creates high‑quality learning and teaching resources in Irish. Funded by SOLAS and overseen by the Board of Education & Training of the Gaeltacht, the organisation supports a wide range of community services throughout the Irish‑speaking regions. Its core mission is to make Irish language learning accessible, practical and enjoyable for learners of all ages.

The suite of resources includes the popular “Oidis Blasta” series – quick, everyday life tips that help users solve daily challenges with ease – and straightforward writing workshops that address common errors in Irish composition. In addition, Breacadh Nua offers specialised material such as “An Focal Scríofa don Chainteoir Dúchais Gaeilge”, a written‑word guide for native speakers, as well as a digital archive of PDFs, online publications, music recordings and culinary guides like “Curaí Cóilise agus Prátaí”. All of these services are delivered from its base in Casla, County Galway, reinforcing the vitality of the Gaeltacht community.
