Company Description
Spinal Injuries Ireland (SII) is the Republic's sole dedicated support service for the more than 2,500 individuals living with a spinal cord injury and the 20,000 family members who walk alongside them. From the moment a person is admitted to hospital, SII's team of Community Outreach Officers (COOs) steps in to provide practical, hope-focused assistance, helping service users set realistic goals and discover what they can achieve rather than what they cannot.
The organisation's core services are split into three pillars: "Living with a Spinal Cord Injury", which empowers individuals through active-support techniques; "Supporting those with a Spinal Cord Injury", offering families and friends practical advice and information; and "As time goes by - your SII support", delivering ongoing, locally-based help to ensure access to essential services. In addition, SII runs a vibrant calendar of events-from online coffee mornings to the annual Q Ball-and a monthly prize draw that both raises funds and celebrates the community. Corporate partners and private donors play a vital role, contributing up to 60 % of SII's income and helping the charity expand its reach across Ireland.
