Company Description
Chernobyl Children International (CCI) is a charitable organisation founded in 1991 by Adi Roche to bring support and hope to children living in the aftermath of the 1986 Chornobyl nuclear disaster. Over four decades the charity has expanded its reach to the wider region, delivering emergency humanitarian aid to families affected by the ongoing Ukrainian crisis and running long-term health and community programmes in Belarus, Ukraine and the Chornobyl-affected zones.
CCI's core services include a Medical Care Programme that upgrades treatment for institutionalised children, a Cardiac Mission that provides life-saving heart surgery, and a Community Care & Hospice Programme which moves vulnerable children from institutions into the care of their own families. The organisation also offers rest-and-recuperation holidays for children from radiation zones, and provides opportunities for corporate partners, volunteers and fundraisers to contribute through donations, in-kind support, sponsorship and legacy giving. By combining direct medical intervention with holistic family-centred care, CCI strives to alleviate the lasting physical, social and emotional impacts of the disaster for the region's most vulnerable children.
