BARRETSTOWN

Barretstown is a charitable organisation that delivers medically-endorsed therapeutic camps and programmes for children living with cancer and other serious illnesses, as well as for their families. Since opening its gates in 1994, the charity has provided free, residential experiences that blend adventurous, challenging activities with professional nursing and medical care, giving young people the chance to rediscover the joy of childhood in a safe, supportive environment.

The core offering includes residential camps where families can unwind, destress and enjoy quality time together, alongside school- and hospital-based outreach programmes that bring "serious fun" to a wider audience. All activities are designed to foster a sense of belonging, create lasting memories and help participants regain confidence and resilience.

Barretstown operates from the Dublin Mountains, serving children and families across Ireland, and relies on volunteers, donors and corporate partners to keep its life-changing camps free of charge.
