The Motor Enthusiasts Club (MEC) is a not-for-profit organisation that has been championing grassroots motorsport in Ireland for over six decades. Founded in 1954, the club brings together riders and drivers of all ages to compete in, and enjoy, a wide range of events - from classic motorcycle trials and sporting trials on muddy gradients to hill-climbs, rally-sprints, autotests, and circuit racing at venues such as Mondello Park and the historic Sugarloaf in Co. Wicklow.

MEC's core offering is the planning and delivery of well-structured, competitively graded events that cater to both seasoned competitors and newcomers. Members benefit from reduced entry fees, regular updates on upcoming fixtures, and the chance to volunteer in roles that keep the motorsport community thriving. The club also recognises achievement through championships such as the Mudplug Championship and the Wilson Cup for junior drivers.
