St. Carthage's House Company Limited By Guarantee runs a purpose-built rest home in the heritage town of Lismore, Co Waterford, offering high-standard residential care for elderly people with low to moderate dependencies. With 42 beds for residents aged 65 and over, the home provides a "home from home" environment that encourages independence, respects personal choice and promotes an anti-ageist, resident-focused ethos.

The service portfolio includes 24-hour personal care, regular health-support visits such as a chiropodist and on-site hairdressers, and weekly Mass. A vibrant activity programme-ranging from monthly movie outings and bingo to art classes, gardening in raised beds and live music sessions-supports both physical and psychological wellbeing. St. Carthage's also welcomes family and friends with open visiting hours, ensuring strong community connections.

Funded through a mix of HSE subvention, resident contributions, donations and fundraising events, the home is overseen by a voluntary Board of Directors and managed by a dedicated Person-in-Charge, employing 35 staff members who share the commitment to a warm, relaxed and age-friendly setting for West Waterford, East Cork and South Tipperary.
