Westport Historical Society Company Limited By Guarantee is a community-run heritage organisation dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich story of Westport and its surroundings. Operating from January to November, the Society manages a small museum, an archaeological trail and a family-focused service, all designed to bring the town's past to life for residents and visitors alike.

Its flagship offering is a series of free historical walking tours that start at the Clock on Bridge Street, guiding participants through the town's most iconic sites. The Society also welcomes groups of all ages - from primary and secondary school classes to active retirement clubs - and organises coach tours for larger parties. In addition, it publishes the *Cathair na Mart* journal, runs an online shop featuring locally-made heritage merchandise, and provides a range of specialised programmes such as the Archaeological Trail and bespoke family activities.
