Cumann Leabharlann Na h-Éireann (the Library Association of Ireland) is the national professional body that represents libraries and librarianship throughout the island. As a company limited by guarantee, the Association works to promote and develop high standards of library and information services, while fostering greater co-operation among public, school, health-science, genealogy, youth and specialist libraries across Ireland.

Membership gives librarians and library staff access to a suite of career-development resources, specialist interest groups (such as City and County Librarians, Rainbow Library and Munster Regional), and up-to-date information on awards, conferences and sector news. The Association also administers the prestigious ALAI and FLAI awards, the President's Medal and the An Post LAI Author of the Year, recognising excellence and innovation in the field.
