Waterford Hospice Movement (WHM) CLG is a charitable organisation dedicated to delivering palliative-care support to patients and their families throughout the South East Palliative Care Service, the Waterford Community Care Area and the South Eastern Palliative Care Centre. Established in 1988, WHM began as a hospice home-care service for Waterford City, County Waterford and South Kilkenny, and has grown to become a cornerstone of compassionate care in the region.

The movement provides a comprehensive suite of comforts and practical assistance, including specialised equipment, amenities and a range of complementary therapies. Counselling and emotional-support services are also offered to help families navigate the challenges of serious illness. In addition to direct care, WHM runs a vibrant fundraising programme-organising events such as coffee mornings, sunflower days and memorial tree initiatives-to ensure vital resources remain available locally. The organisation successfully raised €6 million towards the construction of the South East Palliative Care Centre, with clinical governance now integrated into the HSE.

Through its mission to bring dignity, relief and support into the homes and residences of those it serves, Waterford Hospice Movement continues to foster a caring community where every euro raised stays within the South East, directly benefiting patients and their loved ones.
