Company Description
Foynes Aviation & Maritime Museum Designated Activity Company brings the golden age of trans-Atlantic flight and the rich seafaring heritage of the River Shannon to life. Based in the historic port of Foynes, the museum offers visitors a journey back to the 1930s and '40s through immersive aviation and maritime galleries, a full-size replica of a Boeing flying boat, and a dedicated Maureen O'Hara exhibition that celebrates the Hollywood icon's family ties to the area.
The attraction also houses the Irish Coffee Centre, highlighting the famous drink's origins, and O'Regan's Restaurant, where guests can enjoy classic Irish cuisine in a setting that recalls the beloved eatery of Brendan O'Regan. Interactive tours-available as self-guided experiences or led by knowledgeable staff (minimum ten participants)-allow families, school groups and tourists to explore the exhibits in depth, while the on-site gift shop offers unique souvenirs.
Opening again in late spring 2026 after a winter closure, the museum aims to educate and inspire aviation enthusiasts, maritime lovers and anyone keen to discover the fascinating stories that shaped Foynes and Irish history.
