Valentia Community Health and Welfare Association Ltd. is a charitable organisation dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the elderly and vulnerable residents of Valentia Island and the wider southwest Kerry community. Its core mission is to provide housing, support, maintenance, care and shelter for those in deprived or necessitous circumstances, with a particular focus on the aged and infirm, while also addressing poverty and homelessness caused by poor housing conditions.

Through the Valentia Island Cottage Hospital Fundraising Appeal, the association is raising €1 million to upgrade the existing hospital and construct new facilities that will meet current and future needs. The hospital aims to deliver a safe, caring and supportive environment, treating patients and residents with empathy, warmth and respect, and encouraging active participation in personal care plans. By keeping services within the community, the charity ensures that seniors can receive dignified medical and social care close to family and friends.
