Company Description
The Irish Centre for European Law (ICEL) is a scholarly hub based in Trinity College Dublin that brings together academics, practitioners and policy-makers with a shared interest in European Union law and European human-rights jurisprudence. Founded in 1988 by Senator Mary Robinson SC-who later served as President of Ireland-the centre continues to benefit from her patronage and from a vibrant membership drawn from a wide range of disciplines.
ICEL's core activity is to foster dialogue and research through its members-only directory, regular newsletters and a lively programme of events. Highlights include the annual Review of the Court of Justice of the European Union, such as the upcoming full-day conference on the CJEU's 2025 judgments, and the newly launched Northern Ireland Committee, which deepens the centre's engagement with cross-border legal issues. By providing a platform for up-to-date analysis, networking and scholarly exchange, ICEL supports anyone in Ireland seeking to stay at the forefront of European legal developments.
