The Shanty Educational Project CLG - operating under the name An Cosán - is a Dublin-based charity dedicated to lifelong learning and community development. Since its founding in 1986, the organisation has helped more than 21,000 individuals build brighter futures, and it aims to reach a further 20 000 learners by 2030. An Cosán offers a holistic, learner-centred approach that combines education, care and support, ensuring that basic needs are met before academic goals are pursued.

Key services include free Access courses that open pathways to further and higher education, early-years provision in Tallaght where children thrive in a safe, loving environment, and a suite of wrap-around supports such as financial assistance, IT provision, parenting advice, one-to-one mentoring, tutoring and counselling. The charity also leads digital-inclusion initiatives, equipping adults across Ireland with the skills and confidence to engage fully in modern society.
