IRISH COLLEGE OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE LIMITED

The Irish College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ICTCM) is a pioneering educational institution that delivers university-level training in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and medical Qigong. Founded in 1983 by Professor Tom Shanahan, ICTCM was the first college of its kind in Ireland and continues to set the benchmark for academic rigour and professional standards in these specialist branches of complementary health care.

In parallel with its teaching remit, ICTCM operates the Professional Register of Traditional Chinese Medicine (PRTCM), Ireland's inaugural regulatory body for acupuncture, herbal medicine and Qigong. The register lists fully qualified, insured practitioners across Ireland and the United Kingdom, and provides the public with guidance on treatment options, the PRTCM Code of Ethics, and recognised health-insurance coverage. Through its comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, ICTCM equips students and practitioners alike with the knowledge and credentials required to excel in the growing field of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
