The Irish Pony Society (IPS) is the national hub for pony showing in Ireland, bringing together enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. From Lead Rein and First Ridden classes to elite Show, Working and Show Hunter competitions, IPS organises and affiliates with more than 100 shows and hundreds of classes each year, providing a vibrant platform for the country's 6,000 registered ponies.

IPS's core mission is to champion the improvement and protection of pony breeding while delivering top-quality events for Show Ponies, Working Hunter Ponies, Show Hunter Ponies, and youngstock and breeding ponies. The Society supports the RDS Working Hunter Qualifiers and runs flagship Spring and Summer Championship Shows, backed by sponsors such as Top Spec. With a network of members spanning Wicklow, the West, Tipperary, South Leinster, Waterford, the North, Limerick, Clare, Kildare, Cork and beyond, IPS offers a truly all-Ireland community.

Founded in 1964, the Society also provides resources on health and safety, pony measuring and membership services, ensuring that every rider and breeder can enjoy a safe, supportive environment while celebrating the magic of Irish ponies.
