AISLING ARANN (THE ARAN PROJECT)

Aisling Arann - often referred to as The Aran Project - is a community-driven organisation that emerged on Inis Mór in the Aran Islands in 1985. Born from a group of idealistic individuals, it offers a living experiment inspired by Celtic monastic traditions, deliberately rejecting consumerism and globalisation in favour of a locally rooted way of life.

The project functions as a spiritual and cultural centre where alternative thinkers, intellectual radicals and spiritual practitioners can gather to re-orient, recover, learn and explore their personal purpose. Through its "Four Ways Plus" series of articles, Aisling Arann articulates its ethos and provides a framework for members to understand and develop the community's multifaceted identity.
